Not that long ago we used to joke how bipolar things are here: after wins everything was great, after losses everything sucked.
IMO the big difference is lack of happiness after the wins, increasingly so for the last two or three seasons. This eats away the sense of community, because being happy together is what creates that feeling that we're ultimately all on the same side.
There might be a lot of reasons why that is, but personally I just think the Flames f***ing suck to watch right now in a way they've never done since I've been watching regurarly. They've got to be close to being the least entertaining team in the league. This is why even the wins haven't made me feel good, and if the Flames only leave me feeling vaguely unsatisfied after wins or disappointed and sad after losses, this doesn't exactly support me being all cheery and friendly when I come here. And honestly I hate that, because I want to feel like I'm supporting the team and being nice to people.
My personal response to this was to mostly to just tune out for long stretches. Switching teams has started to look very realistic. Or maybe focusing on soccer or something.
