I've shared my views on this in the past, so will keep my thoughts short.
My viewpoint, is that the very reason I was drawn to this site, to talk the Calgary Flames, has largely become unreadable.
Go into any game thread this year. Seriously, any one of them. And you will see "discussion" on how players are garbage/idiots/morons. Players are bagged on for every single little play.
And I sympathise with the mods. I really do. Those threads move quickly over a 3 hour game, and having to go back to find posts that may have been done 20 minutes before. Not fun for the volunteers that run this site.
Rather then only complain, here are my suggstions:
1) Report posts you think break the rules of the site. I honestly believe there is an attitude by most posters that someone else will do it. Report feature should take them directly to the post. How often have we heard the mods beg us to do this?
2) As I have requested before, there should be easy transparency for the mods and community. If someone gets temporarily banned, the community should know why Ie "Poster was banned for drive-by comments" Keep it open and transparent to the community, and the community does not have a reason to complain.
