I think this needs to get away from a Gaudreau bashing thing. It's far too easy and simple an argument just because he has the best stats. He wears his heart I the sleeve mire then most if that's what you define as not caring about losing. And without his career year we are nowhere, and it's not as if his stats come at the expense of someone else (ie he is holding someone else back or down).

Maybe Hamilton whines about getting pulled off the 1st PP unit if the coaches want to make changes. Or whined about getting onto it earlier in the year when he wasn't there.

Ferland may have taken far too long to finally accept not playing on top line and sulks about it. His stats show that.
Maybe Bennett thinks he should be on the top line, Ferland struggles or not, and sulks about it if he isn't.
Maybe Brouwer thinks he should be getting second line minutes and sulks because he isn't.

Those are all stats related just as much as goals and assists where players are more concerned about that individual side when winning games. I think you have to open your interpretation as to what "caring about stats priortizedover winning " means.

And let's not forget Francis is not the Bible on this stuff, it's his job to stir the pot too. There is certainly some questions around the roster and what went wrong, but Francis isn't the compete authority either, as he has his opinion and interpretation on what he sees, and, what he thinks will get page clicks too.
