But here are a couple of articles that demonstrate what me and my Canuck fans friends (ugh) observed:

https://canucksarmy.com/2013/03/11/t...ain-vigneault/

- Stubborn on his matchups
- Selects veteran players for a certain role and sticks with them even when it's not working

- Insists on distributing defensive ice-time evenly amongst all 6 D, when the bottom pair is struggling. Reminds me of Aaron Rome and the weird loyalty to Andrew Alberts.

The Rangers have committed to a rebuilding plan, which usually means giving younger players expanded opportunities. Vigneault has a reputation for being tough on younger players.
"Being tough" on young players is good, but what the reporter tactfully saying is that he doesn't give them opportunities.

There is another article that I've misplaced that shows that AV's successes relied on hot goaltending (Luongo, Lundquist). I'll have to dig that one up.

I haven't followed the Rangers as closely, but it seems like the criticisms of him in Vancouver were similar to the ones being raised earlier this season in NYR.

Is AV better than GG? Yes. However, I think the Flames are going to need to grow some of its younger talent (Mangiapane, Andersson, Kylington, Foo, etc.) to fill its gaps, and AV was just fired from a team that wants to give its young talent more opportunities.
