Could be an interesting couple of weeks in the coaching circles. After we went the full season without one coach being fired, we get our first of the offseason less than 6 hours after the team's final game ended.
If Montreal fires Julien, would Vigneault have any interest in going back there?
How about Ottawa if they dump Boucher? He is a former Olympiques player and started his NHL coaching career as an assistant with the expansion Senators. He also lives in Gatineau in the offseason. Of course, Melnyk is notoriously cheap, and Vigneault won't be.
I assume Vigneault will have his choice of multiple offers, so I wouldn't bet on him signing somewhere quickly.
If Montreal does fire Julien, I wouldn't be surprised to see him land in Edmonton with his former Bruins boss.
