I am not entirely familiar with all the aspects of what has changed in YouTube. But established YouTubers are complaining. For example one YouTuber that I follow with 225k subscribers had one of his videos only go out to 4k of his viewers. It would be frustrating to have YouTube hide your content seemingly randomly. It's frustrating as a viewer to have videos of people I follow not show up in my feed.

Another YouTuber I follow who has over a million subscribers has had many of his videos demonized (no ads, no revenue) essentially randomly for no reason (it's done by bots). He review movies, essentially all of his videos are the same. He is not doing anything that wouldn't be suitable for advertisers. I think people are frustrated because so much of YouTube is run by bots and trying to get help is like yelling into a void.

There is a ton of crap on YouTube, but there is also a ton of people creating great original content. I know old men like pylon don't want people creating original things on their own when they could be working under someone else.
