Pep really has been underwhelming in the CL knock-out games for years now. Deservedly lost with Bayern against Spanish teams for three straight years, then completely tanked against Monaco last year and now this. All the money is sure helpful in the league when you can have guys like B. Silva and Jesus on the bench and available for rotation during the winter ... but in the CL? Against a well-coached team which the right attitude? Nah.
Their PL season has been crazy good, so this campaign surely can't be called a disappointment in any way. But as a whole, it's nothing to gush over either, given the ridiculous spending. Their horrible back-four today cost €160m and they still had Stones/Danilo (combined 86m) on the bench, ffs.
