Why are they meaningless?
I think they are as key as almost any stat for a bottom roster player that wouldn't have as pronounced of counting stats to rely on.
If a fourth liner is on the ice for more shot attempts for than against in a hockey game I think you can give him a pass for sustaining momentum before handing the game back to lines one and two.
Shore in his four seasons has had CF% of 53%, 61%, 54% and this year 53% in LA, 56% in Ottawa and 58% in Calgary.
His high danger numbers are also in the black.
Oh and the eye test matches too!
