It's the large drop in level of play. Not to take anything away as a I like watching it, but that is certainly why you see
more out of some players in this tournament.
Players, especially fringe NHL'ers are giving everything they have in the NHL trying to stick. They're not leaving anything on the table that suddenly comes out in tournament like this.
