there is no doubt that the 'Hawks were using a collapsing D to protect the guy...and I am sure that the guy was 1st star just because of the novelty of it. But, he did face, at least. 4 quality shots, from bona fide NHLers, and turned them all back, and he did play 14 minutes, a not insignificant time for a team the caliber of the Jets to fill a net. Moreover, a 36 y.o. accountant, whose last significant game appearance was 13 years ago? Good story.

Best post game quote: Did you see Coach Q laughing when you walked by him to take the ice? Foster: "I would have been laughing too!"

Best TV guy quote: Pat Foley ('Hawk HOF announcer), as play rolled towards Foster for the 1st time: "I don't know if those are butterflies in his (Foster's) stomach, they are probably more like condors!"
