The Western States Hockey League is expanding to Canada and will be called the Western Provinces Hockey Association.
In 2015 the league was approved to start competing as a Tier II-level player league for a higher calibre of play beginning in the 2015/16 season. Prior to the announcement the only Tier II-level league in the United States was the North American Hockey League. The UHU-sanctioned WSHL operates similar to the Canadian Junior Hockey League's Junior "A" status and continues to charge player tuition to help pay for team travel expenses.
The Canadian Division will consist of 8 teams playing in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia this year and will further expand by 16 teams for 2019/2020 season.
I have purchased the franchise for Edson, AB and we will be hosting a spring camp in Edmonton on May 26th and 27th at the Millwoods Recreation Centre.
Registration is required prior to the camp and is limited to the first 44 players and 6 goaltenders. If you are interested, please email
edsonaeros@gmail.com with your name, last club/level played and year, with your position.
Registration cost is $100.00 and may be etransfered or use PayPal to
edsonaeros@gmail.com at time of registration.
Your registration fee will cover 4 on ice sessions, practice jersey and lunch.
Qualified players will be invited to our main camp scheduled for the week of August 27-30th in Edson, AB.
The season is 6 pre-season and 54 regular season games. We will also be competing in the Las Vegas Showcase where over 100 scouts from the NCAA, other universities and pro scouts will be in attendance.
Edson is a great community with many offerings including a now regional University campus in town.
