The Flames don't need another project. They need 1 legit top line player for next season. It's the only hole to fill.

Issue is going to be it's virtually impossible to acquire a guy who's a proven 1st line RW.
Of the top 30 RH shots in the NHL in scoring this year the only realistic options are David Perron, Derek Stepan, or Tomas Vanek.
Not really ideal options but work in the short term.
If they go that route then they really should also try and find a younger guy who is potentially stuck in a 3rd line role on a different team with lots of RH depths and might have more offense than they have shown.
Ondrej Kase in Anaheim or Joonas Donskoi in San Jose would be good RW depth but doubt they'd make a deal in-division. Jesper Fast out of New York. Joel Armia in Winnipeg. Stefan Noesen in New Jersey.
Or guys stuck in the AHL. Nicholas Merkley, Daniel Sprong, & Kasperi Kapanen are other names that come to mind.
Then after that you are probably wondering if either Matthew Phillips, Glenn Gawdin, or Spencer Foo are realistic options within the organization already to help with 2nd or 3rd line RW depth.
Honestly I could see Bennett - Jankowski - Phillips as a line that could work in the offensive zone.
