No I don't think any architect is wasting their time, and do find that there are many very impressive manmade structures that obviously take much intelligence and talent to design. I was commenting b/c shockingly someone had to bring up Edmonton in this thread and the fact that it wasn't on the list.
Maybe the reason I haven't been impressed with skylines is due to the fact that I've personally only seen the skylines of Calgary, Edmonton, and several western US cities and I can't say that any of them have blown me away (kinda boring overall). Maybe I need to travel abroad to have that happen.
