Of all the players to piss and moan about, Micheal Ferland is probably one we should be least concerned about. 20+ goals, .5 PPG, plays with an edge, and has the team best in +/-.
To contrast that, a guy we should be a little more critical of? Mikael Backlund comes to mind. Only 13 goals, which is the same as Jankowski and only two ahead of Bennett, and a team worst -17.
I frankly don't think the down numbers are completely on the players. I'd be waiting to see what a real NHL caliber coach can do with this team before throwing anyone away. Unless a real hockey trade comes along that improves the team (Brodie for Hoffman for example) I would tinker around the edges and see how it performs. It is too good on paper to not give it a chance with a good coach.
