And on the Arena... There is no way the Flames allow a new arena to be built with out there involvement. If during this process an arena was announced they would be first in line offering the money that they have in the past. Because what is being argued is the City contribution... The City wants either rent or property tax to recoup their investment. If the Federal and Provincial Governments cover that cost, it removes the biggest sticking point. |
Why in the world would they do that? Why spend money when they dont have to?
Let the governments finance it, and when it is complete and they are looking for an anchor tenant? Then they will be happy to chat about a lease....at a very very team friendly price of course.
