That's how I see it too. I honestly and truly hope the Isles win the lottery. Because that means the Canucks or Oilers didn't. The pick is gone. It's out of our hands, and nothing can change that. Honestly it going to the Isles (given the circumstances the Flames are in now), is the best case scenario.

I have to disagree just based on the fact that the player taken will be watched by flames fans over his entire career salivating at what could have been and that in my opinion is greater punishment than seeing a rival pick them up
