All the people who proclaim to not care about the team leaving sure post a lot about how much they don't care about the team leaving.
There's something to this. Attacks on Francis or machiavellian claims about ownership are just deflections. The owners of this team have made 10X their initial investment, selling the team makes them a lot of money, removes the headache of trying to find a venue for their barely profitable franchise, and cashes out their share when a lot of economists believe that pro sports in general has peaked. If I was an owner that's what I'd be clamoring for. Calgary's love of hockey as a sport isn't going to matter very much when a Houston billionaire just sees a team that will fill nights at his arena.
