Hoffman does seem to make perfect sense and Karlsson could be dealt this summer so Brodie would be an obvious solution to that hole.

I just want a three line team. And that means no tweeners or Brouwers on the 3rd line.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland (good enough, most teams don't stack one line)
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Bennett - Jankowski - Hoffman
Lazar/Brouwer/AHL rotation

I think that would be good enough. The more important part is improving the powerplay and letting the players having great games play more. If Hoffman is flying out there, double shift him with the top line.
