Ehhhh, not really. And believe me, I was big into Diablo - played it through multiple times, including the expansion (which no one seems to remember; the monk animations were super weird), played it online (ruined by duping). It was a really simple, basic game, though, with limited story and barely anything you could call an interesting character.

More importantly, though, it's completely overshadowed by its sequel - Diablo 2 is really the quintessential game of the series for multiple reasons, and would make the list here except it wasn't released until 2000. It might have a shot at best PC games of the 2000s, maybe, but again probably not enough depth given the competition once you get into the next decade.
