When GG was hired, the GM said it was to take this team to the next level. It is clear that is an abject failure and I could easily argue the team has deteriorated significantly. My first order of business would be to get rid of the coaching staff, except for Gelinas. Including the goalie coach. Bring in a real coaching staff - Quenville, AV, Sutter....someone who can make adjustments based in the players the GM supplies him with.
I would certainly rebuild the third and fourth lines. But I would not trade any of our skilled players until we see what a real coach can do with them.
