I'm not giving up on them, but I am taking a break from CP. That's not to say this PGT is awful or anything, I just find I get more depressed and angry when I'm following everything intently. So I'm choosing not to.

Here's hoping we can recover and still make the playoffs.

Go Flames!
I sincerely appreciate your post, but this year, I have given up on this team. Since January, I have used the first period as a barometer: if it's mediocre, I find something else to do. It's been a real time saver (although, admittedly, tonight I lasted until the 2-1 goal against...here I blame Backlund for not finishing, but that's a separate issue).

Given that I believe this year to be a write-off, I am quite content with the fact that they did not give up any young talent in a panic move at the deadline. Had Treliving fallen into that trap, I fear that we would have not only missed playoffs, but cast away talent that could help this group in the near future.

It's pretty clear that this current group simply does not have the ability to overcome even minor setbacks (at 3-1 down tonight, they still had more than half of the game left). I don't know what the ratio of poor coaching to non-confident/resilient players is, but the problem with this team rests somewhere in between these two categories.

Luckily, Treliving did not see fit to sacrifice our future for a last-ditch attempt at playoffs this year. Hopefully this means that we will be able to make some tweaks for next year and beyond.

Onward and upward (in 2018-19, that is)!
