At this time last year, I was totally fine with the World Cup replacing the Olympics in regards to NHLers. But after watching what an exhibition tourney that turned into, with the whole Under-23 team cheesiness thing (that team was fun to watch and carried a buzz, but it removed the nationalistic pride vibe an international tourney should draw, and instead gave it an all star game feel), plus what a brutal draw the men's Olympic hockey turned out to be, I've done a 180 on this.
Basically both tournaments could be considered disappointments, which I didn't expect. I'd imagine both sides would be more motivated to get the NHL back into the Olympics for 2022.
PS- I'm actually kinda surprised he got a Q about playoff formats. We were under the top 8 conference format for 20 years, and this is what, year 4 of the divisional format now? Why change it again already? I like the current format as well. I'm guessing the reporter who asked it, does not like the current format.
