So I still think you look at moving Brodie for a RW. Guy like Hoffman or Patches.
Then you look to the free agent class to see what you can get there. I would buy out Brouwer to clear room. The RW class isn't great though. Grabner is the best name out there and would be a good fit but could be a guy that gets overpaid. I would maybe look at Joel Ward as a 4th line guy.
So maybe you focus your trade on RW and then you look to free agency on the other side.
Top class guys (JVR, Neal, Sedin) are unlikely. Kane probably gets overpaid. Vanek isn't a fit.
So how about David Perron

I definitely think that if you move a D, it's Brodie - best combination of value plus a guy Calgary can play without. I'd target a guy with a couple years left with maybe some upside who the other team has concerns about re-signing. Hoffman, obviously. Maybe Connor Brown. I'd still look at Sam Reinhart, who has shown more lately.
