In 3 starts, Gillies is rocking a .946 save percentage, is 2-1-0, and holds a 1.67GAA with only 5 goals against.
I think one of my favourite moments for Gillies was last night after the game. He spoke directly to the fact that he lost the goaltending battle. That's awesome. No fluff, no nothing - he views games as 1 v 1 battle between himself and the opponent's goaltender. I love that mindset. No excuses, it's just a simple task of being better than the guy at the other end of the rink.
I'm a huge Gillies fan, and what he's done so far this year is definitely giving me hope for what he'll be moving forward.

Fair enough, but thats really small sampe size and those teams are not the top teams maybe except Dallas. Rittich was sporting similar numbers after 3 starts. If Gillies started in Vegas instead of Yotes, this could have been different story. I am a fan of Rittich and i feel like we will be loosing him after this season. If Gillies is prefered, Rittich will probably leave to KHL. I dont think he wants to sign another 2-way deal.
