How is Stewart a headcase?
Do you really think Treliving is afraid to fire Gulutzan?
Where do you come up with this nonsense?

He might be a head case. He just shows flashes of brilliance and then goes a half a season playing far below his potential.
6 NHL teams have passed on his erratic play .. They didn't move out the good Stewart they gave up on his bad streaks.
Right now the Flames have Bennett, Jankowski and Ferland that lose confidence, conditioning, or for what ever reason go for long periods where they are not very good hockey players. They are all young and there is hope that they will find a consistent level of play.
Stewart is 30 years old, and appears to be a nice guy well liked by his team-mates (Stajan's role) but his level of play relative to the potential that he shows from time to time is a coach killer.
As this is very likely his last chance at an NHL contract he should be highly motivated, but he has let down numerous teams and coaches.
