As everyone points out, prices were high today but that could have just as easily worked in Flames favor. Trading a guy like Brodie for picks which could then be flipped for a player with term on their contract.
It seems likely Treliving was trying to do something like that but couldn’t get what he wanted for any of the pieces he was willing to trade.
Maybe this team flips the switch and suddenly starts consistently playing like a team that belongs in the playoffs. If not, there will be off season changes no doubt.
Very thankful no assets were wasted on more goaltending.
