Again, Okposo has produced at a pace more than Backlund... playing in Buffalo without Tavares. He is a very good hockey player on a really bad hockey team who would fill a huge hole on this team...thats all i am saying.
Oh and Backlund...Selke level last year for sure, not so much this season....in fact i doubt he finishes top 10 in voting, nevermind "elite" level.
Both players have had injury issues, not sure why thats a factor.
But to wrap this up...Im not advocating getting Okposo...but when people call KO a bad player with a brutal contract, I feel for context it should be pointed out we have a guy who is less than a year younger who produces much less offensively that has a slightly cheaper deal for years LONGER than the one people are complaining about.....and that's regardless of his defensive prowess because at 5.3 M for a C you better be good at a lot more than just defense.
I will leave it at that...just my opinion of course.
