He would have been the 3rd leading pt getter on this team last year at his pace, and is less than a year older than Backlund....who just signed for an even longer time than Okposo would be here at almost the same dough.
Sure his numbers may be a bit better playing with a guy like Tavares...who's wouldnt. Doesn't mean he is not a very good hockey player in his own right...because he is.

You originally asked how adding a six million dollar salary for a player with his points is bad when we just paid for Backlund. It's because we just paid Backlund and have several other young players who will command big money that it's a massive gamble.
He might be a very good hockey player at the moment but his contract isn't, especially relative to our cap situation moving forward.
