Hartley never had Mike Smith or even Brian Elliott though. He managed to win a playoff round with Wideman and Russell as his top pairing somehow, without Giordano.
Gulutzan does not yet have a playoff win. His entire roster of dmen and top two scorers are healthy. Results are really all that matter now. The Flames have to crack a 0-7 egg vs Edmonton with Gulutzan (Hartley went 10-1-1 prior) and beat Buffalo with nothing to lose as well.
This has to be a playoff team.
