An armed guard or teacher MAY limit casualties but it doesn’t stop the shootings.
i don't know if people are simply dumb, or willfully ignorant...

not only those cases that you cited, but there was a mas shooting at Fort Hood! I mean, that's a army base full of well trained soldiers... and there were 13 fatalites. Now granted, the military actually stows individual soldiers' weapons while on the base, but the MPs are there, and i believe all the officers have access to their sidearms...

the reality is that it doesn't matter if you practice on a shooting range. Shooting at a human target is a much different thing, especially when someone is shooting back at you.

this is the reality:

A study of 35 active shooter incidents during 2012 found that 37% ended in less than five minutes and 63% in less than 15 minutes, according to Schweit. The average active shooter incident lasts 12 minutes.

parkland was estimated to last 6 minutes.

the idea of a teacher being able to remove their gun find the target and try to put him down in time before the shooting is over is pretty incredulous... you have trained officers that freeze in those circumstances...
