That doesn't matter. This team is a single point out of the playoffs - if they have a shot to get in then you probably shouldn't blow it up.

After 62 games those teams had identical 31-22-9 records.

Digging into the deeper stats there were only 3 major differences between the teams. 5v5 Shooting Percentage (Nashville 0.5% better), Powerplay, PK. Everything else is similar. Flames are actually the better 5v5 team outside of their shooting percentage and if the PP is fixed now with the proper players that has a chance to catch up.

Flames

Predators

Regular Stats
GF:181 (9th)
GA: 170 (17th)
PP: 20.5 (5th)

5v5 Advanced Stats

5V5 GA: 110 (13th)

But you're right we should totally blow this team up. They were nothing like Nashville last year.

Edit: Actually the real main difference this year might be that we have one more team in our division. That just happen to be first in the division. So unlike the Preds last year who snuck into 4th, the Flames sit 5th.
How does trading Ferland equal to "blowing it up"?
This team has to much money on D and needs to allocate it the forward ranks this summer.
