I don't think it's time to throw in the towel on him as Kipper struggled in San Jose when he was in a similar situation. There's been some regression in his game the more he's played so ideally it's just a matter of him having some time off and working on his game as it appears his confidence is shot. Unfortunately the Flames don't have that luxury right now and I'm not sure how much confidence the staff has in Gillies.
