Actually, your desire to flippantly get rid of Frolik for a 2nd just because you acquired another forward is kind of how many have viewed Frolik his whole career, he's one of those quietly strong, important pieces in a forward group.

With guys like Versteeg and Brouwer coming back up soon, Hathaway, Lazar Stajan playing as well our forwards group is crowded and Frolik is coming up to his contract year while we have hefty raises coming to some of the younger talent.
a 2nd round pick is probably cheap; maybe we could even package Frolik with a Brodie to get a really great top 6 piece but when you're looking at the numbers right now the player that needs to be upgraded honestly is Frolik in the top 6. He's been an amazing signing ~ as good as Hudler was in his first 3 years more from a two-way perspective with obviously lower numbers ~ but I could see Frolik starting to decline as he gets towards most likely his last 4+ million type contract and I think we could turn him into an asset for this team going forward. That's all I was meaning by that.
Do I think Brodie and Frolik get traded at this point though?? More and more as we lead towards the deadline I think the Flames are going to take a passive approach and not swing for the fences. No reason to panic now and the trade deadline is when the biggest mistakes are made... the only thing that makes me second guess that thinking is our first in the possession of NYI and the Flames need to get into the post-season preferably into the 2nd round +. There is no reason we shouldn't be in the final 8 with the roster we boast but this team continues to have forms of Jekyl and Hyde syndrome; its going to be an interesting team/story line at the deadline honestly.
