Hamilton is not as good as fans here believe, his defensive play is atrocious and this is evident by the flames coaches pairing him with Giordano to insulate him. Every game Gio is bailing Hamilton out, most times everything works out because Gio is that good.
Hamilton is a bigger and better skating Dennis Wideman. I don't think the Flames lose much replacing Hamilton with Andersson. Anyone of the right shot defenseman could play with Gio and become a top pairing guy. The one constant in all that advanced stats crap is Gio, not the partner, whether it is Brodie or Hamilton or Andersson or Hamonic or Stone.

I have no words to describe this post. Well actually I do, but if I commit them electronically I'd probably face a pretty heavy ban by the moderators for being outright mean to you.
This is just a bizarre take, and I don't think you actually understand what makes for a good defenseman.
Also, its outright silly to trade a 6'6 24 year old near if not in elite company right hand shooting skates like the wind defenseman for magic beans. And stating that the difference between Andersson and Hamilton isn't really that big is obnoxiously silly.
I tend to think that some fans want a team that perpetually rebuilding because prospects are more exciting to talk about then actual players.
