He had a stroke 6 years ago and his health has been declining every since. You guys might be a little hasty in passing judgement on the cause of his death. Since his release from prison, by all accounts I've seen, the guy had really cleaned up his life.
No question he was a big time addict before that though.
Initial reports indicate he died of natural causes related to the stroke.
