Our best LH prospect is valimaki and hopefully he's ready next year. This is why they may have to keep Brodie regardless of what we all want

It looks very much like Valimaki is the heir to Brodie’s throne. He’ll likely need at least one pro season before he’s ready for the NHL. I’m not a big fan of rushing young defensemen myself as minimizing mistakes at that position is crucial.
If Valimaki at some point surpasses Brodie, then maybe Brodie becomes a tradable asset. But only time will tell and to those who would love to see Brodie traded, it’s likely not going to happen as there seems to be a succession plan in place from upper management. It’s probably why the team seems to have no interest in trading Valimaki.
