The AR-15 realistically has one purpose: mass death. Self-defense? Get the #### out of here. Unless you're defending yourself against the T-1000, any hand gun will suffice for self-defense. If you need more power, a shotgun works too. Stopping the tyrannical government? Yes, the government who can literally wipe out the entire population without firing a single bullet because of chemical and biological weapons will sure be scared of AR-15's. Hunting? What are you hunting that you need an AR-15? So the AR-15 only exists for killing scores of people faster than any other (available) weapon can. How these things are still legal is quite astonishing, and speaks to the immense power of the NRA. I'm not even sure the Israel lobby has as much power as the NRA does.
