Ottawa showed yesterday that they're willing to lose a trade right now to save money (real dollars). Bobby Ryan looked really good in the playoffs last season (16 pts/19gms) and a new environment could rejuvenate his game. A big body who can skate, score and make plays as a right handed shot would be an improvement over Troy Brouwer. It's a very palatable cap hit at $3.625 as well. At worst, the buyout amount wouldn't be crippling either.
I wonder if this would be an issue in the event of Bobby Ryan's acquisition:
