Don't worry about that one. Here's a list of Benning's pro scouting aquisitions on defense in the last 4 years:
Sbisa
Clendening
Pedan
Bartkowski
Gudbranson
Larsen
Del Zotto
Pouliot
And it's not like those guys were free, all together they cost an entire draft's worth of picks to acquire. 4 years and a bunch of assets later, and he hasn't been able to acquire a single top 4 defenseman.
