This move by the sens is just a cost cutting move, they get worse IMO but save money. This is just the beginning of their "non fire-sale" and they'll make moves that help save them money. Right now Karlsson is their franchise star player and he's said he's going to get paid on his next contract, the sens are cheap but they want to keep him. They'll likely do whatever they can to keep him and shed salary elsewhere. I think adding a guy like Gaborik to the roster shows that they really don't care what kind of quality comes back in trades as long as they save money.
