It really isn't.
Therrien was fired mid-February. Pens won cup that year.
Boucher was fired with 16 games left in the season by Tampa. This "training camp" allowed Cooper to jump right into the next season with a 14-5-0 start. While Cooper didn't salvage their season, it might have played a big part in a quick start the next season.
Julien (26-23-6) was fired in February last year, which is when Cassidy took over. They finished the season under Cassidy playing 18-8-1, made the playoffs, and haven't skipped a beat this year.
