I think Lomberg was way to eager and excited - any gameplan (to fight a taller man) was completely ignored. You can't punch what you can't reach, and Lomberg really messed up this fight and took a dangerous punch right off the chin.
Shorter guys can do well fighting, but they have to fight smarter then what we just saw. Shorter guys can have some power, range and leverage advantages, but they have none of those advantages by fighting the way we just saw Lomberg fighting.
Domi was really good at getting a hold of a jersey so taller fighters were leaning forward and off balance, stayed in very close range so any reach advantage favoured the shorter guy, and worked really hard to never get into a fight like Lomberg did. I know Domi is a rare example, but he knew exactly what he was doing.
