No doubt the Flames are tracking that closely. The problem with these situations is that the player is never going to say anything negative. So all you can do is remain positive and keep in contact with them.
But... if it goes through the summer of year 3 and they still aren't signed, then the red flags come up and the player's trade value drops significantly.
Really, really difficult thing for a team to manage.
