This is a retail option but honestly some foam board and a free Saturday and you will be so much farther ahead.
A Olfa knife a metal ruler a cutting surface and Elmer’s white glue (I used a glue gun) are all the tools you require. The results are very satisfying .
Have your minis been protected by a coating like a gloss or Matt clear spray?
My painted minis are sprayed with a rustoluem clear matte which makes a very durable finish.
I also am just about to use a minwax polyshade ( dark walnut) wash to my zombicide minis which will give it a very hard durable coating.
Both provide a durable finish which allows storage and play durability.

I follow Sorastro's IA videos (the guy is awesome, and does Zombiecide which I hope you are already aware of?) and he recommends Testor's so that is what I use. I've only had a problem with a few and it is usually very sharp corners on extreme angles, like the outer most nail on my Nexu. But still having to touch anything up is annoying especially if it requires re shading, highlighting etc..
When you make this foam core what do you store it in?
