Making the second line, who plays against the number one line of the opposition, weaker by removing Tkachuk and inserting Brouwer isn't logical. When Brouwer was on that line he was playing with both Tkachuk and Backlund, so it's a different situation.
Plus you are making a player switch sides. Not as big a deal for a forward, but still harder to protect the puck and pick up pucks around the boards.
