I mean this in a respectful manner but I think the latest discussion requires a little perspective with regards to Mark Stone. Imagine if near the 2016 trade deadline the Ottawa Senators were looking at Johnny Gaudreau.

How do you think that would go? Because this is pretty close to that. We'd be laughing at the idea as fans. I know it's fun to speculate, but the reason Mark Stone appears to be an amazing fit for us is because he's an amazing player who would command an absurd return.

But just like Johnny Gaudreau there is next to zero chance the Sens are looking to trade him. If anything some of their other dumbass, salary clearing moves were made specifically for re-signing Mark Stone
