It would be a good gamble IMO and from the proposal I played out I don't think too much more needs to be added either way for it to be a likely trade. It all depends on the next stretch of games, it will really help determine the buyers, the sellers and who is willing to go all in. Stone is all in for Calgary IMO.

Two things are wrong with this assessment. 1. Flames wouldn't want to pay that price
2. Ottawa likely still doesn't do this based on the price they / Sakic set for young forwards earlier this year
