This is an extremely poor QB draft class, so much so that Josh Allen, a third round talent, is in the conversation for number one overall. If you're a near contender like the Bills or Cardinals or Broncos, Foles is far more appealing than a rookie. Pederson also got the Eagles job primarily for his history of QB development. This is still the NFL, ruthlessness prevails. Eagles have to believe they can survive with another backup. Foles value will never be higher. Would be naive not to cash in now, especially since he's a UFA at the end of next year.
