The thing is a lot of the teams are in the same position struggling in the dog days here. It will be the teams that are able to get back on track sooner rather than later that will help make the difference. LA is struggling, Chicago isn't the same without Crawford, and Colorado just lost Mackinnon. 30 games is still just over a third of the season so there is lots of hockey left and they still control their own destiny.
