BRUINS LOOK LIKE OLD SELVES

Boston (AP) - The Monday blues were no where to be heard in Beantown last night as the Bruins handily beat the Atlanta Thrashers 5 - 1. It was a game full of complete and utter domination by the Bruins. Yanic Perreault found his groove on the Boston PP scoring 2 goals and assisting on the Zubov PP opener.

All-Star centre Mike Modano also had a decent game scoring two in the second. The Thrashers were held scoreless until the 13:09 mark of the third period.

The only negative aspect of the game was the play of returning veteran defenceman Curtis Leschyshyn. Curtis was seen before the game being egged on by THE Brian Holzinger to go out and carve a few Thrashers up like so much Thanksgiving turkey. Curtis, who is going through some personal problems related to the move from New Jersey to Boston, decided to clip Thrasher Denis Arkhipov with the heel of his stick in the first period and, consequently, took a 4 minutes double minor. On his very next shift he smacked Craig Conroy over the helmet and earned himself a minor for high sticking and a misconduct. The Trashers were incensed by the laughter heard coming from the direction of the Bruins hallway as THE Brian Holzinger razzed Leschyshyn for his stupidity.

Ryan Smyth took his frustrations out on Bruin Sean O'Donnell. O'Donnell had just been called for boarding on Adam Deadmarsh when Smyth gave him a decent chop on the back of his neck. O'Donnell was in considerable pain but finished the game.

Next up for the Bruins are the Ducks of Anaheim in a couple days. Major changes to the lineup for the Bruins are not expected. A line shuffle is in the works whoever.
